For care experienced adults

Reading your records is a journey. You shouldn't take it alone.

I'll walk with you through every part of it, from the first question you're afraid to ask, to the long stretch afterwards. There are social workers, therapists and other care experienced people around me too, so you're never leaning on just one person.

How I'll support you

01

Before you ask

We'll sit down first for a quiet chat about what records are, what might be in them, and how to look after yourself and the people around you before anything is opened.

02

Making the request

I'll help you write your subject access request, work out who to send it to, and let you know what usually happens next.

03

When the file arrives

I can be with you when you open it. In the room, or on a call. As slow as you need. As many pauses as you want.

04

Making sense of it

Afterwards I'll help you find a therapist you trust, and connect you with other people who've been through it. This part doesn't have a deadline.

What I offer

  • One to one chats with me, at your pace
  • A hand with writing and sending your records request
  • Someone in the room, or on the call, when you read your file
  • An introduction to a therapist I trust
  • A way to meet other people who've done this
  • All of it, always, free
